Mexico Beginner Week

  • Beginner Week Veracruz Feb. 5 – 12, 2012
  • cost: $1280, includes all land expenses.

In the Aventurec Pool

You can learn to paddle in Mexico – all in one week!! You don’t have to have any prior experience, or you can have some.
You will get an introduction to whitewater boats and gear, try them out in the swimming pool of our favorite ecological resort, drive close by to the moving water on the Tomata and Filobobos Rivers, and then try running some simple rapids. It is all located in the lush and beautiful surroundings of the fruit-growing countryside in Veracruz.

We meet you at the airport in Mexico City, travel by bus to Puebla, and drive to the mountainous countryside of Veracruz not far from the Gulf of Mexico. Accommodations are in elegantly decorated cabins scattered throughout an orange and tangerine grove, and food is served under a thatched roof ‘palapa’ a few steps from your cabin. Food is simple and delicious, with fresh fruits, Mexican style stews and meats, and of course tortillas and salsas.

Each day we go out to paddle various sections of the river, and also have time to see some of the remarkable local sites – the high waterfalls, the local town market, the nearby ancient ruins.
