We believe that learning and training in a sport is a life-long process. As boaters ourselves, we continue to find ways to strengthen our own skills, and believe that we always have more to learn.

Based on our own experience, we believe progress at an Advanced Level arises from a variety of related training components:

Physical fitness: attainment workouts up the river, any kind of cardiovascular endurance workouts, will do

Skill development: practice workouts in the gates at the Brookmont Feeder Canal

Whitewater challenge: trying to accomplish the eddies and the gates at Dickerson

Experience and development of river judgment: paddling West Virginia rivers, scouting and running rapids

Advanced swiftwater rescue and safety training: build your confidence, develop understanding of hazards, and prepare you to react appropriately.

We invite you to join us in our most advanced programs, where we’ll learn new skills, gain certifications and challenge ourselves in the toughest whitewater environments.  Our clinics and workouts are designed to build your skills and judgment so that you can be confident in Class IV water.
