Recreational Boat Tour of the Potomac
Open the door to the beautiful Potomac River – the many islands, the animal life, the shimmering water. You will be able to see for yourself the swath of Nature that projects into the heart of DC. The boats are simple to paddle and stable. A certified guide will explain the equipment, show you the strokes, and lead you out on the water. Locations vary from the canal at Angler’s Inn, the islands upriver at Riley’s and Violtette’s Lock, or around Roosevelt Island and Key Bridge.
Who: First-time kayakers, persons wanting to explore aroung the islands and backwaters of the Potomac and wish to enjoy viewing the bird life and natural beauty of the river without the challenge of white water or dealing with skirts and wet exits. This is an ideal outing for people wanting to get out to enjoy the river in a realxing and stress relieving way.
What: 3 hour classes including warm-up, equipment orientation, and basic strokes.

Cost: Rec Boat Tour is $75 for a three hour excursion. Group discount provided. Need a group of 3 or more.
