Level 2 – Maneuvers

Your ACA certified instructors will review strokes and introduce river maneuvers in easy current. You will to apply your skills on a new stretch of river. Soon you will be able to move into increasing levels of difficulty and excitement. Our instructors create a safe, dynamic learning environment to fit your learning style and ensure that you will experience a smooth progression from one class to the next. This class is part of our beginner progressive learning package(PLP).

Who: For those who have kayaked before, are familiar with the wet exit, or want a review of basic skills.

What: 4 hour classes including warm-up and stretch, introduction to stroke technique, review of basic river maneuvers, and river dynamics.

Where and when: Sunday at Violettes Lock from 8:30 AM -12:30, May through October.  We meet at 8:15, to be ready to start class at 8:30.  We will let you know if river conditions require us to hold the class elsewhere on the river.

What to bring: All equipment is provided, or you can bring yours. See what to bring for details.

Cost: A single 4 hr. class is $90. Intro to river kayaking package (4 – 4hr classes) costs $320.

Prerequisites: At least one day of paddling experience, and comfort with the wet exit.
